The 489-pound female rapper who is suing Lyft after a driver refused her service because he didn’t think she could fit in his car went on The Breakfast Club for an exclusive interview this week, and had another weight-related mishap.
36-year-old Dank Demoss needed to have a couch brought in for her because she couldn’t actually fit in the studio chair:

Now you might think it’s completely embarrassing for the host of a radio show to be forced to rearrange the furniture on the spot because you can’t fit in a standard chair, but maybe this clip actually proves Dank Demoss’s point? After all, when the couch is brought in for her, the first thing she says is “this is what I’m talking about… Accommodations.” For Dank Demoss, the problem isn’t her weight, it’s the people who aren’t willing to help accommodate plus-sized people like herself.
Demoss told the show: “We not all the same.” When asked why should people have to accommodate her, the rapper responded simply with “Why not?” Bigger people should be accommodated just like we accommodate the LGBT community.”
On the other hand, she knew she needed a bigger chair/couch during this interview, so how come she didn’t realise she needed a bigger car? I really don’t think her lawsuit against Lyft is going to fly given she could have ordered a Lyft XL which picks you up in either a minivan or SUV, as it’s clear she’s way too big for a standard sedan. It’s not like the driver was trying to be rude, it was just a safety issue.
Will be interesting to see how it all plays out in court, especially as Lyft already threw their driver under the bus by siding with Dank Demoss in their initial statement:
“Lyft unequivocally condemns all forms of discrimination—we believe in a community where everyone is treated with equal respect and mutual kindness. Our community guidelines and terms of service explicitly prohibit harassment or discrimination.”
