Did you know that Maxim Magazine still exists? Not only that, but they’re still handing out Sexiest Woman Alive awards in 2023!

I half expected them to vote a trans woman as their #1 but maybe that’ll happen next year, because this year it’s the turn of plus-size model Ashley Graham to be announced as the sexiest woman alive:

I’m not even sure she’s particularly plus-size? But then I’m just a lowly blogger, not a body size expert. It is quite interesting though that Maxim are inclusive and open-minded enough to put a bigger lady on the cover, but then still cover her in make-up and Photoshop all her natural blemishes. Does ‘body positivity’ only go so far or what?

I think we can all agree that Ashley Graham has a very beautiful face, even if her body doesn’t fall within conventional beauty standards. Still, why should emaciated women get all the magazine covers? Time for the BBWs to get some shine too! Normal BMI – your time is coming, I guess.
