Donald Trump has been keeping an unusually low profile since he left office – or maybe that’s just because he’s been banned from pretty much every form of social media out there so he couldn’t communicate with us even if he wanted to? – but he always has some lackeys in the background working on boosting his profile.

This time the honour falls to Jon Cross and Reggie Stoltzfus, the Republican Representatives for Ohio who want Trump’s birthday of June 14th to officially be recognised as ‘Donald Trump Day’ in their state to commemorate the man they feel is the greatest US President of all time. Obviously, not everyone is going to be happy with this idea for the event because a lot of people think that Trump was a maniac, but there’s also another very good reason why this probably won’t end up happening in an official capacity.

Jeff Crossman, a Democrat Representative from Ohio explains:

One problem is that June 14th is also Flag Day, a holiday that celebrates the 1777 creation of the Stars and Stripes.

I don’t like the idea of changing an existing federal holiday that honors the flag.

I think it’s disrespectful.

Guy has a point, and it’s a way better argument than trying to reason with impassioned Trump supporters who won’t have a bad word said against their hero. Can’t see it happening on a large scale, although I’m sure QAnon might meet up for a parade through Cleveland or something come June 14th. It’s never gonna stop.

For more of the same, check out this diss track Macklemore made about Trump leaving office. It’s really not that good sadly.
