New figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have shown a detailed picture of the UK’s relationship with alcohol.

Of course, we’re all here to find out the region that drinks the most alcohol. And according to the stats, the answer is the South West of England, while the least boozy area is London. This is thought to be due to the fact that London is more ethnically diverse. Out of the English regions, over 70% in the South West said they had boozed in the past week, while this figure was only 47% in London. See how your area compares:
The data also showed that married couples and couples that lived together were more likely to drink on five or more days a week than single people. However, single people are more likely to binge drink.
Meanwhile, a quarter of men over 65 were more likely to drink on five or more days per week, while this figure was 13% for women. Young people between 16-24 drank less than any age group… pussies. You can read the full study HERE.

So there you have it – the South West is the booziest region of the UK. I’m quite surprised by those findings. If I had to put my money on it, I would’ve said that Scotland was the booziest area, purely because you’ve got people doing shit like this on a daily basis. You learn something new every day.
