Police officers say they were ‘taken by surprise’ by two pit bulls who attacked them as they carried out a raid on a drug dealer in his snack store – even though the pit bulls are right there waiting behind the door before officers even bashed their way in.

Body cam footage shows the two pits – named Chocolate Chip and Salami Mami (awww) – maul the four officers as soon as they enter the premises:

Amazingly, the police did not shoot the pit bulls, which is especially shocking considering one ‘took a pretty good chunk out of’ an officer’s leg, which left him requiring 11 stitches. Pretty sure any person who did enough damage to a cop to give them 11 stitches would be shot dead on the spot, so it’s quite incredible that these officers would have more grace and leniency to a pair of killer dogs over an actual human.

In the end, the officers managed to subdue the dogs with copious amounts of pepper spray and stun guns. Two men, Gabriel Blandino and Jeffrey Salley were arrested at the scene for possession of drugs and illegal firearms:

WEBSTER, Mass. ? Four police officers were injured after being attacked by pit bulls and two arrests were made following a raid on a Webster business last week.Jeffrey Salley, 35, of Yonkers, New York, is charged with possession of an electric stun gun, obstruction of justice, two counts of possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance, possession of a Class E substance, and conspiracy to violate the drug law.Gabriel Blandino, 30, of the Bronx, New York, is charged with possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, improperly storing a firearm, leaving ammunition unattended, possession of an electric stun gun, two counts of possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance, possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance, possession of a Class E substance, and conspiracy to violate the drug law.

As for the pit bulls, both dogs were found to not be up to date with their rabies shots and are now being held under a 10-day quarantine. After that, I guess they get released back to their owners? They’re good dogs, really. They were just playing around and trying to rip off some limbs!

Major oversight by the cops to just bust in there while the dogs were running free, but I guess they needed the element of surprise to get their suspects. Fair enough really.
