There was never any way that Piers Morgan would invite Jeremy Corbyn onto his show and have a reasonable, calm, nuanced conversation about the Israel-Palestine situation, and so obviously they got into a massive argument where Piers was only interested in hearing Corbyn say that Hamas is a terror group.

Which was never going to happen, obviously:

In fairness to Corbyn, he did say that ‘ I do not approve, support or welcome Hamas’ during the full interview (below), but naturally Piers was always going to zero in on his refusal to outright call them a terror group and use it to suggest Corbyn is an antisemite again. At the same time, why can’t Corbyn answer a simple question? Does he think Hamas is a terror group or not?

When asked whether he condemned Hamas’ actions on October 7, Corbyn replied: ‘It was totally wrong under any circumstances. You don’t bring back the tragedy of those 1,400 deaths by killing 10,000 in Gaza. You have to have a process that leads to a ceasefire.’

After saying that he doesn’t ‘support’ and is ‘not a friend’ of Hamas, Corbyn told Piers ‘it’s not up to your or me’ when asked whether he would keep Hamas in power.
