The festival has traditional art with old fashioned ice lanterns, and then modern extravaganzas featuring lasers and neon. Both awesome in their own right.
Harbin is the biggest snow and ice festival in the world and in 2007 featured the largest ice sculpture to have ever been built. The beast was 250 metres long, 8.5 m high and used over 13,000 cubic metres of snow. To put that into perspective, that’s enough snow to fill Wembley Stadium (I made that bit up).
