Back in 2018, Martin Shkreli was sentenced to 7 years in prison on a fraud conviction that included hiking the prices of a life-saving HIV drug over 4000%. As well as a prison sentence and lifetime ban from the pharmaceutical world, Shkreli was ordered to return $60M+, which also led to him losing the ‘Once Upon A Time In Shaolin’ Wu Tang album that he was the sole owner of.
Well, I guess he’s been behaving himself in prison because here he is enjoying his first day out after early release, still rocking his grey prison tracksuit and all…

Lots of people seem to be celebrating his release as he’s become some kind of hilarious meme over the years, and others are acting like it’s the most terrible thing in the world that he’s out early. Obviously he’s not a very nice man given what he did all those years ago, but he’s probably not even a blip compared to the other scumbags in the pharma/finance world. Besides, what’s the worst he can do now? Start a podcast? Release an NFT?
Whatever it is, I’m sure we’ll be seeing plenty more of Martin Shkreli now that he’s back out among us in the real world. Let’s just hope he doesn’t try chatting up any more Bloomberg journalists, after the disastrous consequences last time.
