Remember about a decade ago when everyone was obsessed with ‘Guitar Hero’ and absolutely loved playing it at their little gatherings and shit?

I never really got into it myself, but it’s kinda crazy that it disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived and nobody really capitalised on the game format by doing something similar. Thankfully, ‘Trombone Champ’ is here to change that and it looks like people are going absolutely wild for it following a tweet from PC Gamer.
The game looks as though it follows roughly the same format as ‘Guitar Hero’, although there’s no novelty trombone esque controller to hit the notes with currently. Can’t see that staying like that for too long though – can you?
Anyway, the basics of the game revolve around the notes being fired at you and you moving your pad up and down and hitting them as they cross across the line. It looks borderline impossible because some of the notes are so far apart on the scale but you have to hit them really closely to one another as they’re played so fast. That sentence might not make sense but when you look at the videos below you’ll understand.
Regardless of that, people seem to be absolutely loving it:
The world’s first trombone rhythm game is instantly a GOTY contender. And no, I’m not kidding. Turn up the volume and hear Beethoven like you’ve never heard it before. https://t.co/Qu7Cmkhjzc pic.twitter.com/jTXNdWx3Zm

Yeah looks solid doesn’t it? Not sure how you would even get good at some of those parts.
I doubt I’ll be spending a lot of time playing this myself but I can see a lot of people downloading it, getting really good at it and then going up against their mates on it when they’re really stoned. Nothing better really is there?
For more of the same, check out when this dad and son made a killer beat using a trombone and an oven. Awesome.
