It hasn’t been so long since we finally saw the fifth season of ‘Peaky Blinders’, but it’s been confirmed that the sixth season has already begun pre production so it’s thought that we might see everyone’s favourite Birmingham gangsters come the end of the year.

Due to the fast moving nature of the series, plot details are no doubt going to be leaked during the course of the year before we see its return. Creator Steven Knight was in attendance last night as ‘Peaky Blinders’ won Best Drama at the National Television Awards and when asked about the plans for season six had this to say:

(It’s going to be) better than ever. It’s the best yet. It’s moving the story forward. We always jump in time so we are into the ’30s. Expect the unexpected.
Because of the nature of the decade, the 30s, we know what happened at the end – that war began. There are rumblings and rumours of war and that is overshadowing the whole thing. It makes it all the more… the stakes are higher.
Oswald Mosley will be coming back and we’re currently looking to cast an actor for the role of Diana Mitford, Mosley’s second wife.
So there you go, not really that much information and to be honest it did seem kind of obvious to anyone with a brain that Mosley would be returning, but I suppose it’s a bit of news to know that it’s gonna be set in the 30s. From the end of series five, you could perhaps have thought that it might run straight onto the next one as it was a bit of a cliffhanger, but turns out that it isn’t going down like that.
