In another depressing example of how the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict and the debate around it promotes racist behaviour from idiots around the world, a woman in hijab had a paving slab thrown at her head by a man in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire this week.
Of course it’s possible this attack was completely random, but it’s probably fair to assume it was racially-motivated at this point:

This is attempted murder.

Thankfully, the woman is able to run away which suggests she didn’t suffer too much damage. Still, imagine how traumatised and paranoid she’s going to be walking around knowing that there’s braindead m0rons like this around trying to lob paving slabs at her head. What kind of man does that to anyone, let alone a woman?
The good news is that West Yorkshire Police managed to arrest a 57-year-old man on suspicion of assault. I’m not sure he’ll be tried for attempted murder as the Tweeter suggests he should, but hopefully he gets put away for long enough to learn his lesson.
