The summer normally means a hell of a lot of BBQs, but sadly it looks as though we’ve had our one good week of weather this year and are determined to wallow away in the doldrums for the rest of July and August. Guess that’s the problem with living in the UK though isn’t it?
Anyway, as we’ll be mostly indoors all summer this year, Papa John’s have decided to bring out a limited edition BBQ pizza menu so that we don’t feel like we’re missing out too much on all that Jack Grealish inspired mischief. They’ve teamed up with Bull’s Eye BBQ sauce to bring you three different pizzas that truly capture the essence of BBQ:
BULL’S-EYE ALL THE MEATS
● Bull’s-Eye Original BBQ Sauce base with pepperoni, pork sausage, bacon, spicy beef & ham
BULL’S-EYE HAWAIIAN CHICKEN
● Bull’s-Eye Original BBQ Sauce base with chicken, bacon, onions & pineapple
BULL’S-EYE THE WORKS
● Bull’s- Bull’s-Eye Original BBQ Sauce base with pepperoni, Italian style sausage, ham, mushrooms, green peppers, sliced onions and black olives
And that’s not all, they’ve also decided to include a new range of BBQ Bull’s Eye sides and Papadias with the deal too:
SIDES
BULL’S-EYE BBQ CHICKEN WINGS
● Chicken wings coated in Bull’s-Eye Original BBQ sauce
BULL’S-EYE BBQ CHICKEN COMBO
● Chicken poppers, piri piri chicken poppers, and Bull’s-Eye BBQ chicken wings with garlic & herb and BBQ dips
BULL’S-EYE BBQ CHICKEN WINGS & POTATO TOTS COMBO
● Chicken wings coated in Bull’s-Eye Original BBQ sauce and potato tots with garlic & herb and BBQ dips
BULL’S-EYE ORIGINAL BBQ SAUCE
● Full-bodied, smoky, BBQ sauce crafted with a perfect blend of tangy sweetness, and savoury spices.
PAPADIAS
BULL’S-EYE BBQ DOUBLE HAM AND CHEESE
● Bull’s-Eye Original BBQ Sauce with Double Ham and Mozzarella Cheese
BULL’S-EYE BBQ MEATS
● Bull’s-Eye Original BBQ Sauce with Italian Style Sausage, Ham, Pepperoni and Mozzarella Cheese
(In case you don’t know a Papadia is a hot flatbread sandwich that’s sort of like a pizza quesadilla. Delicious.)
Anyway, I know this reads like an advertorial and to some extent it is, but Papa John’s were kind enough to deliver me and some buddies a couple of the new pizzas to the pub on Friday where I was gearing up to watch the France v Portugal game, and let me tell you they were by far and away the highlight of that night. It was pxssing down, the match was beyond boring but then suddenly we’ve got some perfect Papa John BBQ pizzas. Look at how happy this guy was!
I must admit that I was sceptical about the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken flavour, but it actually worked really well and might have ended up being my favourite pizza. You can’t really go wrong with a The Works style pizza or All The Meats in my book either and they were exactly what you would expect them to be, with the Bull’s Eye BBQ base really cementing the whole deal. Think I probably preferred The Works but that’s just me, nothing wrong with All The Meats. This guy also really the BBQ Chicken Hawaiian.
I also noticed that they had stopped doing that minging garlic dip that had always put me off from ordering Papa John’s in the past and replaced it with a much more palatable version. Really good information that.
So there you have it, if you’re missing the summer and BBQ season, there’s only one place to head this summer. Papa John’s!
