We’ve seen enough warnings in recent years that plastic surgery addiction is unhealthy enough to kill, and sadly we’re dealt another example this week with the sudden death of 34-year-old OnlyFans model Christina Ashten Gourkani.
Christina was pretty much the only Kim Kardashian lookalike who looked like Kim Kardashian, but clearly going to extreme measures to make that happen was not worth it, after she suffered a massive heart attack in the middle of her latest surgery.
Her family have set up a GoFundMe to raise money for her funeral costs, which has currently raised more than $3,500 (£2,800) with the target set at $40,000 (£32,000). £32,000 for a funeral? Seems a bit pricey but I guess it will be a fittingly lavish occasion.
The fundraising page includes a heart-breaking statement from the family, who received a call from another relative “who was frantically screaming and crying hysterically” telling them “Ashten is dying… Ashten is dying”.
“After arriving at the hospital shortly after the phone call our family continued living a nightmare as we were informed that her health and wellbeing had continued to decline in a downward spiral for the worse after suffering from a cardiac arrest.
Her sudden and tragic passing is currently being investigated as a homicide related to medical procedure that took a turn for the worse. Christina Ashten Gourkani you will forever be our guardian angel.”
Just such a stupidly unnecessary tragedy. There’s no word yet on what this fatal surgery involved but you already know it’s something she could’ve done without. We don’t know what exactly went wrong during the surgery either. Was she given too much anaesthetic? Did she have an allergic reaction to something they failed to test on her beforehand?
I’m sure these answers will be forthcoming but let’s hope that this story can at least dissuade another young women from undergoing insane surgical procedures on their bodies. RIP.
