The old lady who went viral after being left dangling helplessly by the shutters at Best One Shop in Tonteg, Wales, earlier this month has been immortalised with a graffiti tribute on the shopfront.
First, let’s remind ourselves of the moment Anne Hughes, 71, was hoisted up into the air by the store’s electrical shutters:

And the excellent graffiti tribute that was unveiled earlier today:
Superb. Good on the shopkeeper for not only rescuing Anne in the initial footage, but for also greenlighting the graffiti tribute so that her viral moment can be eternalised not just online, but in the real world too.
What a great ending to a story that really could have ended badly, had Anne’s jacket not been made of some of the strongest fabric known to mankind. I doubt they make jackets like that anymore but if the brand is still out there, I can’t think of any better PR than letting the world know that the legendary Anne Hughes is a customer.
That’s it for this one. Have a great weekend, everybody!
