Dirty’s credentials as a certified gangster are no joke.
Through the Freedom of Information Act his FBI file was made public in 2012. It includes: various crimes, connections to murders, shoot outs with cops and a full federal investigation into the Wu-Tang Clan as an organised gang. He was also shot in 1994 by another rapper following a street altercation.
Man Of Mystery
The official inquest into the cause of Dirty’s death declared it the result of a drug overdose. However, his concerns over constant FBI surveillance extended to his belief that the US government were also trying to kill him. The truth we’ll probably never know.
But, what we do know, is that whatever you want to call him — Dirt McGirt, Big Baby Jesus, The Specialist or Russell Tyrone Jones — the Ol’ Dirty Bastard was a man like no other. I’ll leave you to reflect on this freestyle from The Drunken Master.
