Hot off the heels of his “Street Bass Bootlegs” compilation (which Seclusiasis released for free last month), Dev79 teams up with Seattle producer Thrills and Welsh MC Skamma for the epic stormer “Off In A Minute” on Slit Jockey Records. This is a unique track that flips between a tropical infused dance beat and a rugged half time boom bap, all the while held together by a gripping bassline and moody synths flying at you. Skamma’s raps lend both to the hype factor and the grittiness. Is it Funky? Is it Grime? Is it Rap? Is it Club? Yeah…all them and more!
This single is available now exclusively at Juno Download! Full release at all digital shops on August 8th.
In the past week “Off In A Minute” has been seeing airplay on BBC 1xtra’s Mista Jam show, XFM’s Mary Anne Hobbs show, and Radio Cardiff’s Chrome Kids show, plus support from DJs such as Dexplicit, Starkey and Stagga. Here’s what some peoples are saying about this single:

Dev79 & Thrills will be releasing a collaborative EP this Fall on Slit Jockey Records!
Philadelphia’s brazen Dev79 attacks a barrage of genres, with an almost reckless abandon, to create his spin on the Street Bass style, as displayed in his freshly dropped mixtape Street Bass Bootlegs. He’s done remixes for +Verb, Starkey, Raffertie, DZ, BD1982, Manikan, Mestizo, Dmn Days and has been featured in XLR8R, Mishka, FACT, Frank151, Trash Menagerie, and Discobelle.
Seattle based producer/DJ, Thrills, has been grindin’ for 14 years. He has collaborated with DZ, Jay Robinson, Dean Tynan, and Tony Rocky Horror. His tracks have been heavily supported by Rusko, Kissy Sell Out, Excision, Doorly, and Annie Nightingale on BBC Radio 1. He’s released on his own Sub Philo Music label as well as DJs Are Not Rockstars, Hot N Heavy, Badman Press, Dandy Kid and more.
Hailing from Wales, Skamma, is no stranger to the Slit Jockey camp. He and fellow MC, Joe Blow, spit on Stagga’s modern classic “Genik Riddim,” which was released to much acclaim in Dec 2010. He’s a member of the Squid Ninjaz crew, he’s featured on many tracks and hosted many parties over the years.
