Himba, Namibia
The Himba live in northern Namibia and consist of around 20,000 to 50,000 people. Hima women are the ones that do the majority of the hard labour, leaving the men to oversee politics and legal stuff. Interestingly and incredibly (from a Westerners perspective) breasts aren’t seen as sexual, but the buttocks are always well hidden. Their skin’s reddish tinge comes from a substance called otjize, a mixture of butter fat and ochre and may well protect them from the hardcore Namibian sun.
