Jimmy Nelson is a man with the open road tattooed on his soul. He’s has spent the last few years traversing the wilds of the earth visiting the most primitive and fascinating tribes going. Original humanity. He spends times with the locals, builds their trust and takes the opportunity to photograph them before they are lost to culture for ever and become nothing more than a colourful memory.

Kazakhs, Kazakhstan
The Kazakhs are a Turkic people of Eastern Europe and the northern parts of Central Asia (largely Kazakhstan, but also found in parts of Uzbekistan, China, Russia and Mongolia). Their fearsome medieval identity was shaped in the 1400’s and is still strong to this day.
Because of their nomadic lifestyle Kazakh history is only really kept in oral form and is consequently shrouded in mystery and legend.
