Oasis broke up in August 2009 and since then have passive aggressively sniped at each other on Twitter and in interviews, with only one occasion where they might’ve ended up on stage together again (the Manchester bombing concert) but we all know what happened there.
Till recently, it seemed like all hope of a reunion was lost… until Liam Tweeted this in response to a fan the other day:
Hmm.. could Liam be trolling us and winding his brother up at the same time? He knows how badly people want an Oasis reunion and how little Noel (apparently) wants one. He could just be trying to push his big bro’s buttons again. Unless… this might be a hint that it’s on the horizon.
Well, big bro Noel spoke to France Inter earlier and was asked if he was aware of the demand for the band to reunite, and responded:
No one has really come along to take our place.
On his brother’s Tweet and the rumours it kick-started, he added:
There’s something in the papers back in England today.
He should get his people to call my people; they know who they are, they know where we are.
Stop talking on the f***ing internet, and let’s see what you’ve got to say.
When asked if it was just a matter of Liam making a call, Noel said:
You would think, right? You would think. He’s got my number, he’s got my manager’s number, call us.
But you know what? He won’t call.
When pressed on why that might be:
Well why indeed. Why indeed.
Well… I guess there’s at least a glimmer of hope in that Noel seems more open to the idea, but it might require a level of groveling that Liam isn’t prepared to make. All we can do is hope that the bros can work it out and share the stage again one day. If nothing else, the money will be too good to turn down. They would literally only have to see each other for a couple hours each day at the concerts. Perfectly doable!
