Noel Gallagher has inexplicably hated Adele’s guts for years now, recently calling her music ‘offensive’ and ‘f***ing awful’ and, even as far back as 2015, saying ‘her music is for f***ing grannies.’

Well finally, the Oasis legend has revealed exactly what Adele did to personally offend him so much. Speaking to podcast host Matt Morgan, Noel revealed that he was annoyed after Adele sent an invitation suggesting a meeting between the pair – but he was not impressed that it came via someone else, rather than her directly.

Noel explained that she had ‘sent someone over to f**king ask, “Did I want to meet her?” That’s what riled me’.

‘I’m not one for causing a scene, I just stick it in the vault and just think revenge is a dish best served cold. I don’t think I have ever gone out of my way to start anything, it’s always been a reaction to some f***ing idiot having a go in the first place. You know me, I keep myself to myself.’

Well, I get why he would find that a bit arrogant. But I doubt that Adele was actually trying to flex on him, and it seems a tad OTT to want cold-blooded revenge over it. I guess that’s Noel Gallagher for you though; not exactly a ‘give the benefit of the doubt’ kinda guy.

In the initial conversation, Noel was asked whether he rates any of Adele’s tunes, to which he replied:

‘F**k off, f***ing hell. Name one?

They’re f***ing s**t. It’s f***ing awful. It’s f***ing Cilla Black. I find it and that whole thing offensive.’

There could be a road to reconciliation though (unlike with brother Liam), with Noel claiming he’d be perfectly fine with Adele singing any music he might write if he ever ‘fall[s] out of love with touring’.

‘I could see myself just sitting at home writing songs and sending them to my publishers. I might in the future.

I’ll be saying, ”Get Adele to sing that. Don’t call until she’s done the guide vocal.

I want Lewis Capaldi to murder this song, I want him to sit on it from a great height. Make me rich.’

All this time, I wonder if Adele had any clue why Noel Gallagher despised her so much. Well, now that she knows maybe she’ll extend an olive branch and insist it was all just a big misunderstanding. Yeah, right. Way too big time for that now.
