Here’s Why There Will Be No Johnny Depp/Amber Heard Trial Updates This Week

I wrote yesterday that I thought that the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial would probably be concluding this week and that we were all probably looking forward to some more salacious details about their horrific relationship, but it turns out that I was completely wrong about it and the court case won’t be moving forward this week after all. I guess there’s a first time for everything.

Anyway, it turns out that there isn’t any sinister or outrageous reason for the trial not happening this week, but instead it’s just that Fairfax County Circuit Judge Penney Azcarate – who is presiding over the case – has a previous engagement at a conference this week instead so she’s called a recess. It seems kinda crazy that the trial gets halted for something like that, but I guess it goes to show that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law and doesn’t get any special treatment – even Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

The conference is due to last until Thursday, 12 May but there’s no point starting the trial on a Friday so there will be no further developments on it this week. That must be kind of a nightmare for both Heard and Depp – literally spending a week in limbo when all they can think about is the trial and its outcome – but I suppose it at least gives Amber Heard time to work with her new PR team and how her testimony will be perceived when it resumes next week. Hope both of them make the best use of their time during this period.

For more of the same, check out Amber Heard allegedly doing a bump of coke during the trial last week. That can’t have actually happened can it?
