South Korea has long mastered the art of making super gory, f*cked up horror films, and new offering ‘Project Wolf Hunting’ is no exception.

The movie follows a group of convicts travelling under armed guard via a cargo ship from the Philippines to South Korea, where they are set to serve their prison sentences.

Before they reach their destination though, the police officers on board need to keep everything in check and under control. Well, that doesn’t quite happen because soon enough the prisoners combine to start a violent riot, which somehow accidentally unleashes a paranormal darkness below deck (because South Korea).

Apparently the fight choreography is really good, but there’s one scene in particular that everyone seems to be talking about that is making viewers puke and forcing them to cringe when they remember it. From what I’ve read, I think it involves a f*ck ton of blood being squeezed from someone’s head. So that’s something to look forward to if you check out this movie this weekend.

All in all, 2.5 tons of blood was used on set, which might be some kind of record. Also explains horror movie website Bloody Disgusting describing the film as a ‘splatterfest’. I’m not sure you should expect anything in the way of profound character building or storytelling, but if you’re into mindless South Korean horror and violence, then it might be up your alley.

Catch ‘Project Wolf Hunting’ on Amazon Prime, Screambox, and a couple other platforms too. There’s also Joaquin Phoenix’s new movie if you’re looking for something different.
