It’s safe to say that most of us probably didn’t do as much travelling as we had liked last year, but this may have inadvertently led to some of us spending more time in some of the lesser known towns on our doorstep in this country.

Maybe you had a good time in them and maybe you didn’t, but chances are if you visited one of the towns in this top ten of the worst towns in the country that was recently published by ILiveHere.co.uk then it probably wasn’t that good an experience. They claimed that 1265, 680 people took place in the vote this year and the winner by a country mile was the Cambridgeshire town of Peterborough, which received a staggering amount of votes even after 2000+ votes deducted because of vote rigging.
Who the hell tries to rig a vote like that? Guess someone really had it in for P town hey? Anyway, here’s few of the comments that people left about the town for those of us that have never had the pleasure of visiting so we can get an idea of what life is like there:

One thing to bear in mind, if booking a weekend getaway in Peterborough, it is customary if a stranger holds eye contact with you for more than three seconds, to shout “WHAT”??? and become extremely aggressive.
I lived in Peterborough for 15 years and all I can say is wow. what a f*****g DUMP
The atmosphere in Peterborough is draining. You feel totally isolated from the rest of the world and life in general, as though everything else is going on and you’re not part of it as you’re stuck in this dump.
Peterborough should have been destroyed during WW2 but even Hitler and Goering didn’t think it was worth bothering with.
It is horrible and I urge you all to vote for it at the next vote (end of 2020) as the biggest sh#thole in England.
Here’s the rest of the list if you’re interested:
- Peterborough
- Huddersfield
- Liverpool
- Bradford
- Hull
- Wakefield
- Luton
- Jaywick
- Torquay
- Halifax
Yeah, can’t say I’ve really had the pleasure of visiting too many of those places and I would be put off most of them just by their names and the impression that I have of them, but I’m surprised to see Liverpool in there as it’s always struck me as a friendly town with a lot going on whenever I’ve ended up there. All the other places sound like the absolute pits though, even if Hull was once crowned the European Capital of Culture a few years ago. Never even heard of Jaywick.
