Die Hard and football are undoubtedly at least 50% of the male population of this country’s favourite things, so why has nobody thought to combine the two of them sooner?

Never mind the time wev’e wasted though as this concept is now actually a thing starring former wrestler Dave Bautista and Pierce Brosnan. The action takes place at West Ham’s old ground Upton Park and from what I can tell from the trailer – which is a bit of a mess to be honest – involves Bautista’s character’s niece getting held hostage by terrorists and him having to locate Pierce Brosnan – who seems to be Russian – before the end of the football match, otherwise both his niece and everyone in the stadium get blown up.

It’s a pretty simple premise and one that promises to be played out in completely ridiculous, low budget fashion judging by the trailer below:

Wow. This is either going to be one of those movies that is so bad that it’s good, or one of those movies that has a really dumb plot but is executed surprisingly well and actually turns out to be OK but in a way you’re sort of embarrassed to admit that you like it. Either way, it’s going to be awesome – I mean did you see Bautista ride a motorbike off the top of Upton Park? Epic.
