M. Night Shyamalan knows how to cut a good trailer, even if the movies don’t always live up to the hype. Sometimes they’re great (Sixth Sense), sometimes they’re terrible (The Happening), but you never really know what you’re getting into until you watch them.
Here’s the trailer for his latest thriller ‘Trap’, starring Josh Hartnett in his first major lead role since… forever, it seems?
M. Night Shyamalan is back.

Aside from the part where that guy selling merchandise had a preposterous amount of inside information to give the main character, I do actually like the concept of this film.
The police use a concert to trap a serial killer played by Josh Hartnett (which I guess is something they’re happy to give away in the trailer). It’s interesting that the killer becomes aware of the trap at the beginning of the film, so we’ll see how he manages to navigate that while also ensuring his young daughter enjoys the concert that I’m sure he paid good money for.
Of course, we want this to be great, but given that it’s an M. Night Shyamalan film, we’re going to go in with caution. The guy always has great, original ideas, but doesn’t always stick the landing. Here’s hoping it’s a return to form with ‘Trap’.
