Adolescence is the hottest TV show on the planet right now, with some seriously mind-blowing camera work that involves every episode being filmed in one single hour-long take.

It looks like Jeremy Clarkson has just finished watching episode 2, in which the detectives investigating the case visit the school Jamie – the young son of Stephen Graham’s character – attends. The Top Gear legend was so baffled about how they pulled off some of the camera wizardry that he demanded an answer on X:

Amazingly, Netflix spotted the Tweet and were happy to respond with a video explaining exactly how the Adolescence crew managed it:

So once the handheld camera work was done, they strapped the camera to a drone where it flew back 0.3 miles to the school to finish the scene. There, a second camera crew catches the camera and transitions seamlessly into a close-up of Eddie (Stephen Graham) at the memorial, all without breaking the take. Incredible!

Additionally, an actor who appeared in the episode also chimed in with a response to Clarkson:

Adolescence has a perfect 100 score on Rotten Tomatoes and an impressive 8.4 on IMDB, and is easily the best show to come out of the UK for a long while. There’s every chance it will sweep not just the acting awards, but production and cinematograpy awards too, when the time comes. Anything else would be an absolute travesty!
