Rap legend Nelly has been arrested in his native St. Louis after he was pulled over on the highway and found to be in possession of four ecstasy pills, while also driving without insurance.

According to Fox 2 Now, the 49-year-old ‘Hot In Herre’ hitmaker also had a failure to appear warrant from 2018.

Nelly

Wow, almost didn’t recognise him without the band-aid. Now obviously nobody is above the law, but this is Nelly we’re talking about! Are we really arresting all-time rap legends like Nelly over 4 ecstasy pills? Think about the classic jams this man blessed us with over the years; Hot In Herre, Ride Wit Me, E.I., Air Force Ones… the list is endless.

Fair play to the boys in blue for doing their job and all, but sometimes you’ve just got to let a guy off with a warning, and Nelly is that guy. Take a few selfies with him, get some tickets to his upcoming show, maybe pop a couple of those pills with him, and everyone moves on with their lives.

Nelly and Ashanti's Relationship Timeline: A Look at Their Rekindled Romance

In fairness, the ‘no insurance’ charge is probably the only one he’ll pay for, which is pretty shocking because you’d think a guy like Nelly can definitely afford to pay his car insurance and/or have an assistant who deals with that sort of thing for him.

Nelly – real name Cornell Haynes Jr – is engaged to fellow early 00’s legend and R&B star Ashanti, who is currently expecting their first child. Come on Nelly, you can’t be driving around with no insurance and a bunch of pills when you’re a 50-year-old man expecting a family! In any case – Free Nelly!

P.S. Back in 2015, Nelly was actually arrested for possession of meth. Hmm.
