More news about these weird metal monoliths that keep appearing all over the world and then subsequently disappearing, as the one that was discovered on a Romanian hillside over the weekend now seems to have vanished into thin air as well.

Here’s what Robert Iosub – a journalist with the Ziar Piatra Neamt local newspaper who had actually seen the monolith in the flesh – told Reuters:
The 2.8 metre (9ft) tall structure disappeared overnight as quietly as it was erected last week.
An unidentified person, apparently a bad local welder, made it… now all that remains is just a small hole covered by rocky soil.
Weird. I guess the only two options here really are that it’s part of some global viral stunt to promote some kind of cool product that we’re all gonna wanna buy for Christmas, or possibly that this ‘bad local welder’ thought that it would be funny to capitalise on the monolith craze and set up another one to make the whole situation even more mysterious. Or perhaps aliens etc have brainwashed citizens into making these monoliths for their own nefarious reasons, but that does seem kind of unrealistic doesn’t it?
Although I have been leaning towards a viral stunt in my previous ‘analysis’ of the situation, I could see some strange Romanian welder banging this out and putting it up for shits and giggles. I said yesterday that there was some weird markings all over this monolith that didn’t seem to be present on the one in Utah and that’s consistent with this idea. Could this guy really be bothered to go to this much effort though? They don’t look easy to transport around do they?
So yeah, that is an option but Iinda still think it’s something way bigger than that though, whatever it is. Probably find out fairly soon, as you know, only so long until Christmas now.
For more of the same, check out what happened to the monolith in Utah when it disappeared. Unnerving.
