A mum who drove an hour and a half from Marietta to Logan, Ohio to watch her son’s seventh grade football game neglected to bring a mask with her, and ended up paying for it pretty dearly.
In the first quarter, she was approached by a police officer who told her she had to mask up, which she refused to do.
The video below shows the three-minute ordeal that then played out:
Bit harsh? I’d say so. I mean OK the rules are you need to wear a mask and make sure you’re distancing from other people, but I’m not sure that means you can be tasered/arrested over it. At a 7th grade football game no less! I’d say that’s just a bit of an overreaction on the officer’s part. Then again, how difficult is it to just wear a mask like you’re supposed to? Pretty obnoxious to think you can just get away with it, but also scary to see that the rule can be enforced to this extent.
The person I feel most sorry for though is this lady’s son out there on the field. Must have been so embarrassing having the whole team looking up at the stands and seeing his mum get dominated like that. Maybe he used it as extra motivation to then go on and win the game for his team? We’ll never know, because the Ohio Star didn’t even include the final score in their report! Amateurs!
