The more of these articles I write, the more I realise that most people in this country absolutely love McDonald’s meals so I’m sure that everyone will be super stoked to hear about this trick to grab a Big Mac and fries for just £1.99.

39 year old Maddy Alexander-Grout from Southampton had just visited the fast food favourite with her seven year old son Ben and three year old daughter Harriet when she discovered the trick after some woman just came up and told her. Bet McDonald’s are absolutely loving it that someone is parading around their stores sharing that information.

Anyway, obviously Maddy uploaded the process onto her TikTok account where it’s since been viewed millions of times.

Without further ado, here’s the hack:

If you go into McDonald’s and keep their receipt, there is a website on there called mcfoodforthoughts.com.

If you go into that website and you enter the code that is on your receipt and the amount you spent, then you get a voucher just for filling in a really quick survey.

Don’t fill in all the questions because apparently there are loads of them, but if you fill in the survey it means that next time you go to McDonald’s you can get either a McChicken sandwich or a Big Mac and fries for just £1.99.

Very useful – make sure you keep your McDonald’s receipts and I thought this might be helpful to somebody.

There’s always a catch isn’t there, but I suppose it is probably worth filling out a few questions on the bus or whatever if you’re going to save £2.59, especially if you’re feeding the rest of your family as well like Maddy. Apparently sometimes you can get these QR codes on the back of Stagecoach tickets and in newspapers too, so there’s quite a few ways to get a cheap Big Mac and fries if you really want them. Go make it happen.
