Helen O’Reilly was stood in the middle of a muddy circle taking photos when out of nowhere an unidentified woman runs up, rugby tackles her and then steals her hat. Brutal.
The 36-year-old mum-of-one woke up five minutes later with whiplash and bruising from the incident, which went down at the Kendal Calling festival in Lowther Park, Cumbria.
Now that the clip has gone viral, police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward in order to help with their enquiries.
Helen said:
I never saw it coming as I had my back to her.
All of a sudden I was on the floor, I think I was unconscious for about five minutes. When I came round I was covered in mud, it was in my hair and face, up my nose and all over my clothes.
Fortunately, the paramedics were on the scene very quickly and treated me.
It just doesn’t make much sense. We all know that festivals can get a little out of hand, but for that woman to KO someone who she doesn’t even know without any warning and then topping it all off by knickng her hat is just completely baffling. I hope the police find what they’re looking for.
