As far as incest goes, I’m pretty sure that everyone knows that it’s one of the wrongest things out there that you can possibly do, but what happens when you’re not technically a blood relation?

This is the question posed by the case of 26 year old Lauren Myers from Fort Walton Beach, Florida (had to be Florida). Myers was recently jailed for six years for unlawful sexual contact with a minor who happened to be her son – but the twist is that the 17 year old boy was adopted and not technically her actual son.

Myers actually fostered the boy and then later adopted him, before sleeping with him multiple times over a two month period just days after she was divorced from her husband. The boy said that he wasn’t being raped and insisted that his mother was doing nothing wrong, but his pleas fell on deaf ears as she was handed her jail sentence.

Florida State Attorney Bill Bishop said the following about it:

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a case like this where an adoption occurred and sex occurred shortly thereafter.

There have been cases of older women having sex with young boys across the country, but this is the first I’ve ever seen.

I mean yeah I haven’t heard anything about it and even though it isn’t incest, it’s still really weird and creepy. Like this woman was mothering this child and treating them as a son for so many years and then suddenly when he comes of age she decides she wants to have sex with him all the time?

That’s really messed up. Not sure if it’s worth a jail sentence – although the legal age of consent is 18 in Florida apparently – but even so it’s a bit gross and perverted isn’t it? Merry Christmas.
