Looks like the killer octopus from the other day has some company — this monster cat fish caught in Po Delta, Italy last week. The thing is 8ft 9 inches long and weighs a ridiculous 19 stone:
The cannibalistic wels catfish, AKA the European sheatfish, can grow up to 13ft and reach 62st, but it’s super rare to see one over 2 metres. They live off worms, insects and other fish but have been known to munch frogs and ducks too. Some have even been spotted jumping out of the water to grab pigeons on land. How long before they try it with humans? Good thing this guy’s doing something about it.
