King Kong sh*t right there. A nice wholesome bludgeoning day out at Chester Zoo for the whole family. It certainly sounded like they all enjoyed it. I did wonder whether maybe the seagull pooped on the monkey and that’s what kicked this whole thing off, but it’s possible he’s just doing what chimps do out in the wild (well, at the zoo in this case). Or maybe he saw that scene with Robert Pattinson and the seagull in The Lighthouse?
According to witness Bec Adamson, 32, the beatdown lasted for 5 minutes and the monkey was licking the blood off its fingers afterwards. Her five-year-old son loved it, and now she’s worried she’s raising a psychopath:
“[My son] asked if David Attenborough was watching because we watch this sort of thing at home. He just thought it was amazing because he thought they were fighting. It could have scarred him for life. If I was his age, I’d have been terrified. I think I’m raising a psychopath.”
Definitely a moment he won’t forget. RIP seagull.
