The phone snatching situation in London is an absolute joke at the moment, so it’s nice to get some footage today of the police ramming a serial offender off his e-bike, breaking his knee in the process, and then arresting him and retrieving 24 phones off him that he had literally stolen in the previous hour alone.
Watch below:
The successful capture and prosecution of prolific phone snatcher Sonny Stringer shows our focus on detecting and bringing to justice those who snatch phones.

Sonny Stringer, 28, and an unknown accomplice would target commuters and tourists in central London by silently creeping up behind them, ripping their phones from their hands and then riding off at speeds of up to 50pmh.
Stringer pleaded guilty to nine counts of theft – with one of those accounting for 15 stolen phones – along with charges of dangerous driving and driving without insurance (naturally). His accomplice managed to run off and has not yet been caught.
Stringer was bailed ahead of his sentencing on August 8, where hopefully he’ll be given more than just a slap on the wrist. You can never really be too sure with the British courts, can you?
Anyway, big up the police officers for executing the whole thing perfectly – from ramming Stringer off his bike to then trapping him with nowhere to go. He did do pretty well to run around a bit with a broken knee, will give him that. Just a shame his accomplice got away, but hopefully this spurs on the police to get him and the remaining 2839487 phone thieves in London off the streets.
