A fugitive mobster who was caught after his braindead son shared a picture of him on Twitter told a court that he doesn’t regret posing for the shirtless photo that led to his imprisonment.

Ralph DiMatteo, 68, said to be a member of the Colombo crime family, is pictured looking cool and relaxed and Tony Soprano-esque in the image of him in a pool in Florida, which helped investigators track him down:

When asked during his sentencing hearing if he regretted the picture at all, Ralph responded: ‘Why? It was a great picture.’

Well, he’s not wrong to be fair. That’s exactly how a mob boss should look, and that is a good photo.

DiMatteo, the Colombo mob’s consigliere, escaped to Florida the day before federal prosecutors charged 13 of his co-defendants with crimes around infiltrating a labor union in Queens. The photo gave away DiMatteo’s location after his son posted it online, and he surrendered the next day.

DiMatteo was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy, extortion and money laundering.

His lawyer, Gerald McMahon, asked Brooklyn federal Judge Hector Gonzalez for a more lenient sentence, saying that his client is ‘old-schooled’ (lol).

As per Metro, McMahon told the court: ‘Mr DiMatteo did wrong. He took a plea, he’s taking his medicine. He wants it to be on him. He’s doing his time.’

The lawyer also tried to argue that DiMatteo was ‘aging out’ of the mobster life, but prosecutors argued: ‘Being a member of the Colombo crime family is a lifetime oath. Aging out won’t happen.’ Someone’s done their homework!

Much like Tony Soprano’s son Anthony Jr, I’m guessing Ralph DiMatteo’s son is not cut out for the mob life whatsoever which explains why he was stupid enough to share a photo of his dad on Twitter. Probably thought he’d get a bunch of props for having such a bad@ss looking dad, but instead ended up landing his old man in prison. Talk about an all-time backfire.
