It was a bad night at the office for Czech fighter Lukas Bukovaz, who lost his fight at local event Clash of the Stars at the weekend and then had his marriage proposal shot down in front of the live crowd (and now millions more on the internet):

Jeez. What was he thinking? Proposing to your girlfriend in the middle of the cage moments after being beaten up and emasculated by another man? You absolutely have to abandon any and all proposal plans as soon as you lose that fight. Maybe put it off till literally the next day, if you’re that keen to get down on one knee. But don’t do it to her right after she’s watched your bum get handed to you by a stronger, tougher man.
Not that she would have said Yes otherwise, mind you. According to the translation, her direct response was: “Based on everything that’s happened, I think probably not. I don’t think so.” I don’t think she’s alluding to him taking an L in the cage although it would be hilarious if that were the case. Oh well, plenty more fish on the sea, Lukas!
