A former Miss Scotland bit two security guard and racially abused one of them while being thrown out of a rugby tournament, a court has heard.

Lucy Thomson, 26, yelled “do you know who I am?” (classic) before allegedly biting Andrew Okpaje’s hand and calling him the n-word while being thrown out of the Edinburgh City 7s competition. I’m pretty sure there’s no way these security guards have watched a beauty pageant in their lives, so I’m not sure why the hell she expected them to know who she was.

During the incident, she also yelled “I’ve got so much money in my account.”

Thomson was arrested after Okpaje called the police on her to report the racist language.

Okpaje said as he tried to remove Thomson from the premises, she began “fighting back”, and said he was then assaulted.

“We were holding her and trying to be as gentle as possible and as I had my arm up she went to bite it. It left a mark on my hand.”

“I looked at her in shock and then she proceed to call me the ‘n’ word. She looked directly at me and with confidence she said ‘f**k you then, you f**king n****r’.”

“I hadn’t heard the word said to me in a while. It was quite a shock when it happened. It was pretty horrible.”

Oh dear. For what it’s worth, Lucy Thomson denies using the slur and biting the two men, claiming she was the one who was assaulted.

She said she saw her sister being “cornered into a woodland area” by security staff before she was “struck from behind” by a security officer and had her “arms pinned to her side” and “dragged across a rugby pitch” with no warning.

As for making any remarks, she claims the only thing she did was shout for help.

Thomson also denies having her 2022 Miss Scotland title revoked, claiming that she willingly passed it on herself following the incident. Which I guess is a bit like someone resigning from a company when they know they’re about to get fired for doing something they shouldn’t have done.

Anyway, after hearing the the evidence, Sheriff Derek O’Carroll said he found Thomson’s account to be “utterly implausible” and found her guilty of assaulting both men and racially abusing Okpaje.

She was fined £790 and will need to pay the charge within two months. Which shouldn’t be a problem given she has “so much money” in her account and all.
