The last thing anyone wants to see with the incoming Mike Tyson v Jake Paul fight on July 20 is the 27-year-old YouTuber KO the 57-year-old legend and then go around acting like he beat Iron Mike in his prime, but it seems Paul may have more than just the age advantage after Tyson suffered a ‘medical emergency’ while boarding a plane this week.
Apparently Tyson began feeling nauseous and dizzy as he boarded the flight from Miami to LA. His reps have since confirmed that he had a bad stomach ulcer flare-up:
“Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
Stomach ulcers may not be that serious but it just goes to show that Mike Tyson isn’t 100%. What if Jake Paul just starts body-shotting him to exploit his vulnerable stomach ulcer? That would be pretty f*cked up. Although at least if he does lose, we can now say that clearly Mike Tyson wasn’t healthy enough to compete, in addition to being 30 years older than his opponent and 30+ years past his prime. It’s basically elder abuse!
Some people are even speculating that the stomach ulcer story is fake, and that it’s something a lot more serious, given that Tyson’s reps first denied the story completely. Pushing 60 and doing heavy training for a fight and (possibly) going on steroids is definitely not good for a man Tyson’s age.
I know this is all a cash grab for Mike Tyson, bit I still really hope he somehow manages to send Jake Paul’s head to the moon with a devastating KO blow. If it was just a stomach ulcer flare up, at least he’s got 8 weeks to recover. Come on Iron Mike, send YouTube boxing back into the abyss where it belongs!
