The last thing anyone wants to see with the incoming Mike Tyson v Jake Paul fight on July 20 is a 27-year-old YouTuber KO a 57-year-old man and then go around acting like he beat Mike Tyson in his prime.
So it’s quite reassuring to hear Iron Mike tell Sean Hannity this week that he’s taking the fight very seriously, training around the clock, and has even quit getting high in the run-up as he wants to ensure he’s as highly irritable as possible when he faces off against Jake Paul:

In fact it’s worth watching the entire interview (below). Mike Tyson is fully in fight mode and “scared to death” of the occasion, which he says is exactly what he needs to become “invincible” and get the job done:
He’s also been posting stuff like this on Instagram which, if I were Jake Paul, would have me quaking in my boots:
Scariest 57-year-old in the world. Meanwhile, Jake Paul claims he can “hit at the same level” as Mike Tyson:

In effect, this fight is basically a lose-lose for Jake Paul. If he gets KO’d by a 57-year-old Mike Tyson, his boxing career is as good as over. If he manages to KO Iron Mike, everyone will just say he beat up an old man.
Still, the latter would be completely awful to witness. What we need to see happen is Mike Tyson demolish Jake Paul in the first round and effectively kill off YouTuber boxing for good. You just know that 80’s psycho Tyson is still in there somewhere, and at some point if Jake Paul does something to flip that switch in the ring, there’s a good chance Iron Mike gets really angry and snaps on him. And the potential for that to happen is the one and only reason we’ll be watching this fight.
Check out the fight live on Netflix on July 20. My money’s on Tyson.
