Great news for Mike Tyson today – the boxing legend has learnt that he will not be facing criminal charges for beating up a fellow passenger on a plane. A case of celebrity privilege? Maybe a little bit, but mostly because of the circumstances leading up to the beatdown. Here’s a reminder:
As you can see, the person Mike Tyson beat up was one of the most obnoxious and annoying people on the planet, and the The San Mateo County District Attorney said as much this week, citing “the conduct of the victim leading up to the incident, the interaction between Mr. Tyson and the victim, as well as the requests of both the victim and Mr. Tyson” when letting Mike off the hook.
TBH if I was that guy I wouldn’t have pressed charges either. It would just be too embarrassing and shameless after the whole world already watched what went down and put the blame squarely on you. The best thing to do is just let it go and forget it ever happened. Except he’s got a pretty cool story now about being beaten up by Mike Tyson so maybe that’s a solid enough outcome for both men.
