Mickey Rourke Is ‘Planning To Sue ITV For Costing Him Huge Pay Day’ And ‘Leaving Him With £50K Hotel Bill’

Looks like the Mickey Rourke/Big Brother drama isn’t quite over yet, with the 72-year-old Hollywood legend reportedly set to sue ITV after they ‘cost him a big pay day’ by booting him out.

Rourke had his £500,000 appearance fee ‘slashed’ after being kicked out of the show early following several incidents which included ‘homophobic’ comments to JoJo Siwa, trying to fight Chris Hughes, and making several housemates cry, and he now reckons Big Brother bosses got rid of him so they could avoid paying him his full fee.

It is quite a dramatic pay cut, to be fair – his fee has reportedly gone from £500,000 to just £50,000. Totally unbecoming of a former Hollywood A-lister!

He later called the reality star a 'c***'

Worse still, that £50,000 is just about enough to cover his hotel bill while staying in the UK before the show. Mickey’s representative Kimberly Hines said he was promised ‘five-star’ accommodation when signing up to the show – but on the flight over was informed producers would cover just £300 a night.

This was after he had already splashed out booking a luxury hotel for himself and his team, leaving the ‘broke’ actor to foot the hefty bill of £50,000.

Hines argues that producers were aware Mickey was a ‘verbal loose cannon’ and used him for the on-screen drama before ‘sending him out with barely a ride to the airport’.

So has Mickey Rourke been screwed over, or what? I’m guessing as soon as ITV whip out the contract he’ll have to walk off with his tail between his legs, as it most definitely will say that they reserve the right to boot him out of the house and cut his pay. Didn’t really give the impression that he cared about the money when he was in there trying his hardest to get kicked out, did it?

It’s also hard to feel sorry for someone who spends £50k (!) on hotel suites that they can’t afford. He said himself that he was £500,000 in debt (his full fee, funnily enough) because of COVID and the writer’s strike.

Big Brother reminded Mickey that this was not the first time he had been spoken to about his 'offensive and inappropriate' language

On the other hand, like Rourke’s representative says, ITV knew what they were getting into with him and so you could argue he’s been wildly taken advantage of here. After all, I don’t think anyone would be talking about Big Brother this year if it wasn’t for his antics over the week he was in there.

Perhaps they wanted him to be a bit of a troublemaker, just not to the degree that he ended up being. I doubt he’ll get anywhere with this lawsuit if he decides to go through with it, but I guess we’ll see if he’s desperate enough to try.

Even before the series had officially kicked off, Mickey Rourke landed himself in trouble by perving on the show’s host AJ Odudu. What a guy.
