It’s barely been a couple days and Mickey Rourke has already been issued a formal warning in the Celebrity Big Brother house, after making ‘homophobic’ comments to and about singer JoJo Siwa.

It was a real case of Boomer meeting Gen Z as Rourke, 72, decided to ask JoJo, 21, about her sexuality.

‘Do you like girls or boys?’ he asks.

JoJo, who went public with partner Kath Ebbs a few months ago, replies: ‘Me? Girls. My partner is non-binary.’

Rourke then says: ‘If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore.’

JoJo didn’t see the funny side of that comment, replying:  ‘I can guarantee I’ll still be gay, and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship.’

Later speaking to Chris Hughes in the garden, Mickey says he is going to ‘vote out the lesbian real quick’.

Overhearing the exchange, JoJo tells him: ‘That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning.’

Rourke says he needs a ‘fag’, meaning a cigarette… or maybe not.

This obviously leaves JoJo upset, but Rourke insists he was ‘talking about a cigarette.’

Obviously Big Brother sees everything and Rourke was promptly called to the Diary Room, where Big Brother replayed the footage to him and issued a formal warning:

‘Mickey before you entered the Big Brother house the rules regarding unacceptable language and behaviour were explained to you.

As a result, Big Brother is giving you a formal warning. Further language or behaviour of this nature could lead to you being removed from the Big Brother house. Mickey, do you understand?’

Mickey replied:

Yes, I do. It’s some serious stuff.

‘I don’t have dishonourable intentions – I’m just talking smack you know. I wasn’t taking it all so serious. I didn’t mean in it any bad intentions and if I did, sorry.’

There’s no way the bosses at ITV didn’t see this sort of behaviour coming with Mickey Rourke. After all the whole reason the show exists is for has-beens and Z-listers to make dumb comments and offend each other and everyone watching. So I wonder whether there’s a clause in his contract that states he won’t receive his full fee if gets himself booted out of the house for rule-breaking before a certain period. After all, they must be paying him quite a bit given he’s the most famous person in there by miles. He probably wouldn’t be bothered about being sent home unless there was part of his paycheque at stake.

Even before the series had officially kicked off, Mickey Rourke landed himself in trouble by perving on the show’s host AJ Odudu.
