People forget that Lisa Marie Presley died in January 2023, but her posthumous memoir From Here To The Great Unknown has only just now been released, and one of the more shocking details in it is that Michael Jackson was a virgin until the age of 35. I knew Billie Jean was lying!

Michael Jackson & Lisa Marie tied the knot in 1994 after months of dating – when he was 35 and she was 25. The pair divorced two years later in 1996 (but not before MJ lost his virginity – result!), and Jackson later married Debbie Rowe, who he shared his children Paris and Prince with.

Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley Keough finished off the ‘raw, riveting, one-of-a-kind’ book using recordings her mum had made prior to her sudden death in January last year at the age of 54. Discussing her mum’s intentions with the memoir, Keough, 35, told PEOPLE:

“Because my mother was Elvis Presley’s daughter, she was constantly talked about, argued over and dissected. What she wanted to do in her memoir, and what I hope I’ve done in finishing it for her, is to go beneath the magazine headline idea of her and reveal the core of who she was. To turn her into a three-dimensional human being: the best mother, a wild child, a fierce friend, an underrated artist, frank, funny, traumatised, joyous, grieving, everything that she was throughout her remarkable life. I want to give voice to my mother in a way that eluded her while she was alive.”

In the book, Lisa Marie claims that Michael Jackson informed her he ‘was still a virgin’ after they made things official in 1994. Presley alleged:

“I think he had kissed Tatum O’Neal, and he’d had a thing with Brooke Shields, which hadn’t been physical apart from a kiss. He said Madonna had tried to hook up with him once, too, but nothing happened. I was terrified because I didn’t want to make the wrong move.”

So despite being the one to pop the King of Pop’s cherry, it ultimately did not last between Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley. A clip is now going viral from a 1993 interview where Oprah Winfrey asks Michael Jackson if he’s still a virgin, and he responds like a gentleman and manages to evade the question:

Pretty wild question to ask really, especially now that we know that Michael Jackson was in fact a virgin at the time! Or so he says. I mean, he was already a superstar for three decades when we married Lisa Marie, and so maybe he thought it was a good idea to tell his wife that he was still a virgin to make things less complicated. I for one believe him, though.

Elsewhere in the book, we discover that Lisa Marie kept her son Benjamin’s body on dry ice in a room in her house for 2 months after he died, and would go into the room and talk to him. We all grieve in different ways, I guess?
