Meghan Markle Visited The Texas School Massacre Site And People Are Not Happy About It

I don’t think there’s many things Meghan Markle can do with her life that won’t result in people accusing her of PR stunts, but one thing that was always going to draw that kind of criticism was her recent visit to the site of Tuesday’s school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Meghan is being accused of exploiting the tragedy for publicity, making a ‘secret’ visit via private jet to lay flowers at the site, and to donate food and blood…

Here’s the sort of reaction it’s sparked on social media…

I get people will never forgive Meghan for being a B-list Hollywood actress that stole Prince Harry away from us, but is all this criticism a bit harsh? I mean she must have been fully aware that she was about to get big time backlash for visiting Uvalde but didn’t let that deter her from paying her respects. Either it was a genuine, sincere and ultimately brave act on her part or she’s happy to take the hate and trolling if it means more publicity. I don’t know if she literally took a camera crew with her as people are suggesting. Official reports seem to indicate that she only turned up with a bodyguard.

There are also questions over why she’d visit the site of this school shooting and not the other 27 school shootings that have taken place in America this year? Is it because the victims were so young, and the media focus is so strong? I don’t know, but paying their respects to victims of tragedies, past and present, does seem to be rather on-brand for Harry & Meghan at this point…
