If you’re going to propose, then you’ve gotta make sure that you get the location right, so it’s probably fair that a guy who has eaten 32,000 Big Macs over the past fifty years would ask his wife to marry him in his favourite place. She’s probably used to heading there to be fair.

We’ve featured Don Gorske on the website before and how he’s eaten a couple of Big Macs almost every day for the past fifty years, but this new piece of information about his marriage is something we haven’t heard before. Here’s what his wife Mary had to say about his obsession:

Don Gorske did not tell me about his Big Mac obsession when we first met, I’m not sure it was an obsession quite then.

He ate Big Macs every day, as a matter of fact sometimes I would bring him a Big Mac but I did not realise it would go on forever.

I didn’t mind that he proposed to me in our local McDonald’s in Fond Du Lac.

It was kind of cute.

Like I said, I guess she knew what she was getting into and if this guy is going to McDonald’s twice a day he probably doesn’t have too many other hobbies or anything else does he? Would have been a bit of a cop out if he proposed to her at the Eiffel Tower or something wouldn’t it? Stick to what you know and you’ll probably get it right.
