Matt Le Tissier might be one of the all time footballing greats, but sadly he’s turned into somewhat of a nut job on his Twitter account, constantly spouting off right wing conspiracy theories about covid and the mainstream media and today he’s revealed that he thinks this is why he was fired from his job as a co-presenter on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday back in 2020. Is this that surprising to him?

Le Tissier – who also stepped back from his role as an ambassador for Southampton football club this week for similar reasons when he question the mainstream media’s reporting of the war in Ukraine – was speaking on The AJ Roberts Show where he said the following:

I went into working in the media from 2002 onwards until late August 2020, which was an interesting scenario where I lost my job. Obviously the pandemic started in 2020 in March – and very early on in that I had my doubts as to what was really going on.
I felt early on there was a massive overreaction to it by the governments. And that’s where it all started for me with questioning the narrative and probably ended up with me losing my job at Sky.
I ain’t a stupid human being, I know this is not the same as what has gone on before. I’ve not seen this volume of incidents on football pitches.
Sorry mate, you’re deluding yourself if you think that this is the same as whatever happened in the 17 years I was a professional footballer. Shocking.
Yeah you’ve gotta love it when people do their own research and know way better than everyone else because some clown on YouTube said something. Le Tissier is clearly a smart guy and I’m not surprised Sky Sports and Southampton decided to silence him from spreading a counterculture narrative. He’s just too dangerous to be allowed such a platform.
However, he may have lost his job, but thanks to his Twitter account they’ll never stop him from spreading the truth. What a hero.
