Matt Hancock has to be one of the most universally hated people in the country after his completely useless and highly unlikeable response to the COVID-19 pandemic was only trumped by the fact that he had been breaking his own strict rules and having an affair with one of his aides during it.

The disgraced politician was forced to resign as Health Minister following the revelations, but has sort of been trying to rebuild his reputation over the last few months by doing bits like appearing on Steven Bartlett’s ‘Diary Of A CEO’ podcast. He’s got a book coming out in a month or so too, although that could have just been a meme I saw because it looked like such a joke. Not sure.
Anyway, the big news coming out today is that he’s apparently signed up as a contestant for the latest series of ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’. Here’s what an insider had to say about the situation:
Matt is a sensational signing for the show as producers love a star with a story to tell – and they always hope they’ll spill the beans round the campfire.
He’s the latest in a long line of figures from the political sphere, including MP Nadine Dorries, Stanley Johnson and MP Lembit Opik.
There’s been a question mark over who the twelfth campmate would be, partly because negotiations over Matt going in were so top secret. It seems Matt was a last-minute signing.
Yeah I mean that really would be a coup for the producers wouldn’t it? Everyone would love to see that worm actually forced to eat worms and bugs and generally have an awful time in the jungle. Ratings would go through the roof and the social media clips would probably rack up millions of views on their own. Really hope it’s the truth and he really suffers.
Other celebrities confirmed for the show are Chris Moyles, royal Mike Tindall, and Love Island’s Olivia Atwood. Germany’s version of the show still sounds way better though. Highly sexualised.
