Over the last few weeks we’ve reported most of the news covering the unexplained mass bird, fish and crab deaths – you can read about them all here. One that we didn’t cover was dozens of birds falling from the sky in Romania, which appears to have been solved. The BBC has reported that after initial fears of the birds dying from avian flu it is now clear that they died from alcohol poisoning! The birds apparently feasted on the grape ‘marc’ which is a left over from the wine-making process.
