Dumb and Dumber is one of the most loved films of the 90s (the less said about the spinoffs and the sequel the better), but given the fact that Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey both went on to have substantial Hollywood careers it seems strange that Lauren Holly who played Mary Swanson – or should I say Mary Samsonite – didn’t go on to become a household name.

I mean she seemingly had it all – looks, wit, acting ability etc – so seemed like a banker. Although she has appeared in some movies like Turbulence and Sabrina and is currently starring in a TV series called Motive, you can hardly say that she’s an as recognisable face as Carrey or Daniels.

Having said that, at 52 she’s certainly aged better than the pair of them put together judging by these snaps taken from her Instagram account.
